Before You Order

30 questions every Malaysian buyer wants answered

Payment, delivery, quality guarantees, colour matching, reorders, agent orders, export, e-Invoice and festive timing — the real worries, answered straight.

How do I get a quotation for packaging boxes?

Unlike most Malaysian suppliers, you do not wait for a quote — you see it instantly. Configure your box (type, size, material, quantity, finishing) on this page and the price appears immediately. If your requirement is complex or fully custom, submit the form below and we respond within a few business hours rather than days.

Do you verify my artwork before printing?

Yes, every single file. Our pre-press team checks resolution, bleed, colour mode and font embedding before anything touches the press, then sends you a proof to approve. This catches the errors that quietly ruin production runs — low-resolution logos, missing bleed, RGB colours that print wrong. Cheaper printers skip this and simply print your mistakes; we protect you from them.

What file formats do you accept for artwork?

We accept AI, PDF and EPS vector files, which are ideal because they scale without quality loss, plus high-resolution PNG or JPG at 300dpi minimum. If all you have is a low-resolution logo, tell us — our design team can recreate or improve it before printing rather than letting it print blurry.

What if I have no designer or print-ready artwork?

We help. Many of our customers are founders with just a logo and an idea, and our design team can turn that into print-ready packaging artwork for a reasonable fee. You do not need to hire a separate designer or learn Illustrator to get professional packaging — we take you from concept to finished box.

Is the price I see really the final price?

Yes. It includes plate fee, die-cutting, standard lamination and Klang Valley delivery. Nothing appears later. Outstation and East Malaysia freight, plus any optional premium finishing such as foil, UV or embossing, are added transparently as you configure, so you always see the true total before paying. This is the opposite of the industry norm where a “cheap” quote inflates after you commit.

How do I pay, and is online payment secure?

We accept FPX direct from any Malaysian bank, major credit and debit cards, and Touch 'n Go eWallet, all processed through established Malaysian payment gateways. You receive an official invoice and receipt. DBOX runs on cash-on-order, meaning you pay when you order and production begins immediately — which is precisely why we can guarantee fast turnaround.

Do you offer credit terms or split payment?

First orders are paid in full at order, which is what keeps our prices lean and our timelines fast. For repeat customers with a solid track record, typically after three completed orders, we offer split payment such as 50% deposit and 50% on delivery. Bulk and contract customers can discuss tailored terms with our team directly.

What is your minimum order, and can I do a small test run first?

Standard boxes start at 200 pieces, so yes, you can absolutely test before committing to volume. We actively encourage new brands to start small, see how the market responds, then scale. There is no pressure here to over-order.

📊 Buyers who start with a small test run reorder at noticeably higher rates — they buy the second time with confidence rather than hope.
How long will my order take to deliver?

Standard boxes 5-7 working days, premium 7-10, foil card 10-14, and labels 3-5. Production begins right after payment and artwork approval. We commit to your delivery date in writing, and because we print in-house we control the schedule that keeps that promise.

Can you deliver nationwide across Malaysia?

Yes. Klang Valley gets next-day delivery after production completes. Nationwide including Sabah and Sarawak runs 2-4 days by courier, with East Malaysia freight calculated transparently before you pay. You receive tracking so you always know where your boxes are.

Do you accept rush orders?

Sometimes, depending on current factory capacity. Because we run our own press we have more flexibility than a middleman to slot urgent jobs in. Contact us with your deadline and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable. We do not over-promise dates we cannot hit — that is the fastest way to lose a customer permanently.

What if the delivered boxes do not match what I approved?

If there is a genuine defect against your signed proof, we reprint — no argument. We keep an archived sample of every batch and your approved proof on file, so any discrepancy is easy to verify objectively rather than through opinion. This is only possible because we are the actual factory; there is no middleman to deflect blame toward.

Can you match my exact brand colour (Pantone)?

Yes. Specify the Pantone code for critical brand colours and we match it on press. Our six-colour Komori supports spot and Pantone inks alongside CMYK, and we calibrate ink density against your approved proof before the full run. Colour accuracy is exactly where cheap gang-run printing fails, because your job shares a plate with other customers. We print your job on its own plates, so your colour stays true.

Will my reorder look exactly the same as my first order?

Yes, and this is a core promise. We archive a physical sample and your colour data from every batch, then match against that archive on reorder, and because your die stays on file there is no setup delay either. Consistent colour and consistent fit, order after order. Brand consistency is effectively impossible with suppliers who switch factories each time.

I am an agent or reseller — can I order for my clients?

Yes, we work with agents, designers and agencies constantly. You get agent pricing and keep your margin, we handle production and QC, and we can white-label so your client only ever sees your brand. No joining fee, no monthly quota. Many agencies use DBOX as their invisible production partner: you look excellent to your client, we make it real behind the scenes.

Do you welcome export and overseas orders?

Yes. We produce for brands exporting into Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and beyond. Boxes flat-pack for cost-efficient freight, and we advise on quantities that make export shipping genuinely worthwhile. Whether you are a Malaysian brand going regional or an overseas buyer seeking Malaysian print quality at competitive rates, send your destination and volume for a shipping-inclusive quote.

Is my design safe with you? Will you copy it?

Your artwork and design are strictly confidential and used solely to produce your order. We are a printing factory, not a competitor to your brand, and your intellectual property remains entirely yours. We are happy to work under an NDA where your project requires it. Trust is the foundation of repeat business, and repeat business is how we grow.

What if I need a custom shape or size not listed?

We make it. Custom sizes and die-cut shapes are a speciality — we produce a custom steel die for your exact requirement and keep it on file for future reorders. The preset sizes exist purely for speed and convenience; if your product needs something unique, send the dimensions and we engineer the structure around it.

Can I add QR codes or anti-counterfeit features to my order?

Yes, as an add-on during ordering. We integrate serialised QR codes or hologram labels directly into your packaging so consumers can verify authenticity while you run scan promotions and collect customer insight. From as little as RM0.08 per box, a plain box becomes a brand-protection and marketing tool. Just select the smart add-on while configuring your order.

Why should I trust a new brand like DBOX with my order?

Fair question. DBOX is the online ordering channel of an established Balakong packaging manufacturer with around twenty years of printing experience — new as a brand name, not new to printing. You get the reliability of a long-running factory with the convenience of modern online ordering. Visit us, request a sample, start with a small run. We would rather earn trust with proof than ask for it with words.

Do you provide an official invoice for my business and tax records?

Yes. Every order comes with a proper invoice and receipt suitable for business accounting and tax records, including Malaysia's move to e-Invoicing. Our fully digital ordering process means every transaction is documented and traceable, which is exactly what your accountant and LHDN want to see.

What happens after I place and pay for my order?

You receive instant confirmation, then our pre-press team reviews your artwork and sends a proof for approval. Once approved, your job enters the production schedule and you can track its status. We notify you at key stages and again when it ships, with tracking. From payment to delivery you are never left wondering what is happening to your order.

Can I change or cancel my order after paying?

If production has not started — before artwork approval and plate-making — changes or cancellation are usually possible. Once your job is on the press, materials are committed and it cannot be cancelled. This is exactly why we secure your explicit proof approval before starting, so what goes into production is precisely what you signed off. Tell us early if anything changes.

Do you offer discounts for large or repeat orders?

Unit pricing already drops significantly at higher quantities, which you will see automatically in the calculator. For very large volumes, ongoing contracts or regular repeat schedules, contact us for tailored pricing. Loyal repeat customers are the backbone of this business and we make sure it is worth your while to keep coming back.

What is your busiest season, and should I order early?

Festive periods — Raya, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Deepavali — drive enormous packaging demand and every printer in the country fills up. For festive or hamper packaging, order 8-10 weeks ahead. Early orders get better material choices, time for revisions and guaranteed delivery slots. Last-minute festive orders face rush fees and limited options everywhere, not only here.

📊 Packaging demand typically spikes 3-4x in the eight weeks before major festivals — early bookings lock in both capacity and price.
What if my product is fragile? Can packaging protect it?

Yes, and this is worth planning properly. We can specify heavier board, add E-flute corrugated layers, or design inserts and trays that hold the product still so it cannot rattle or shift in transit. Tell us the product weight and fragility at quote stage and we will recommend a structure. Damage claims and replacement shipping cost far more than a slightly stronger box.

Can you print on the inside of the box too?

Yes. Interior printing is one of the cheapest ways to upgrade an unboxing experience — a printed message, pattern or brand story inside the lid turns opening the box into a moment worth photographing. For e-commerce brands especially, that photo often ends up on social media, which is free reach you paid almost nothing for.

Do you keep my die and artwork for future orders?

Yes, we archive both. Your custom die stays in our die library and your approved artwork and colour data are kept on file. This means reorders skip setup entirely — faster turnaround, no repeated setup cost, and colour that matches your previous run. Over time this makes reordering with us meaningfully cheaper and easier than starting fresh elsewhere.

How do I know the quantity I am ordering is right for my business?

Balance unit economics against cash and storage. Unit price drops as quantity rises, but boxes sitting in a warehouse for two years are dead cash and can go out of date if you rebrand. Our honest guidance is to order roughly what you expect to use in three to six months when starting out, then scale once your sales rate is proven. We will tell you when a bigger tier genuinely makes sense and when it does not.

What if I am unhappy with the service, not the product?

Tell us directly and we will make it right. Because we are a factory rather than a middleman, feedback reaches decision-makers immediately rather than being filtered through layers. We would far rather hear a complaint and fix it than lose a customer quietly. A business built on repeat orders cannot afford to ignore service problems — and we intend to be here for the long run.
